Once again, Amos Nunezwill be at the very famous international Fair, Ambiente 2017, that will be held in Frankfurt (Germany), from 10th to 14th of february.
It is an important multisectoral fair, where you wiil discover all kind of home products, and indeed the ones of Cutlery sector.
Cutlery, not only from Albacete (Spain), but from others countries all around the world such as France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Portugal,…will show their fantastic knives, novelties, projects and materials, and we will stay there to update, meet and learn of our profession colleagues.
During these days, from 20th to 24th of January, it is being held in Madrid, the International Tourism Fair, FITUR 2016, and how it couldn´t be otherwise, Cutlery Albacete (Spain) again present in Castilla La Mancha booth, stands 7B10 and 7B08 located in Hall 7 of the trade fair of Madrid (IFEMA).
Last Friday 22nd, it took place on Albacete Day, where President of APRECU, Juan Andrés Barbero, presented the conferences on the IGPs of non-agrifood products, organized by APRECU, which will been celebrated on April 8th in Albacete, thanks to sponsorship of Government of Castilla-La Mancha.
We can not forget to mention the figure of our beloved “mochilero” indispensable and reference in this fair, and present in it thanks to the cooperation of Albacete City Council, a character who represented the cutlers that used to sell their knives on trains which stopped in Albacete station in 50´s and 60´s, with their little ditty, “navajitas, navajitas de Albacete” and whose sculpture was inaugurated in 1998, located at Altozano Square, in the city center of Albacete, statue that appears facing the train station.
This year 2016, The President of Castillla La Mancha, Emiliano García Page has been awarded with the Albacete typical pocket knife delivered by our beloved “mochilero”.

One year more, we are going to enjoy of XXXV Cutlery Contest of Castilla La Mancha, which is holding, from 8th to 17th September, in our city of Albacete, matching with our wonderful Albacete Festival, from 7th to 17th September.
Everybody can visit, of course free of charge, the hall prepared for that in the fairground, and really do appreciate the awesome craft pieces of our Master Artisans.

If you are a craftsman and wish to participate in the contest, the registration period is already open until August 28th, the pieces must be submitted on August 4th, and the jury´s decision is going to be announced on September 8th.
On September 10th, during the fraternity lunch of the knife makers, the awards ceremony is going to be held.
We are already preparing the next VI Handcrafted Cutlery Fair & Knife Show 2015 atAlbacete (Spain), which will take place on 11th, 12th and 13th of September 2015, event that also being held during Festivals of Albacete (7th to 17th of September), therefore, unique opportunity to enjoy the knives and pocket knives from Albacete, handcraft pieces unique, different sorts of steel, put simply, pure craftsmanship, and incidentally, the awesome festivals of our city.
Fair organized by APRECU (Association of Cutlery and Allied), and sponsored by Fair Institution of Albacete (IFAB), and aimed at collectors, lovers of cutlery, artisans, professionals and the general public.
It is located outside the Municipal Museum of Cutlery Albacete, under a tent of 300m2, admission is free, and the schedule is:
Day 11 and 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.. to 9:30 p.m. Day 13, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
In addition, all visitors can enjoy some activities, including the traditional workshop, “RUN YOUR OWN POCKET KNIFE”, and even artisan German Azote will delight us with a live workshop on “Steel,Forging and Heat Treatments”, amazing!!!.
The registration period has already started, go ahead and sign up !!!.
At these days, the city of Thiers, becomes world capital of Cutlery, event which will welcomes artisans from 20 countries and 170 exhibitors, all in an area of 1500m2, where, you will also enjoy different demonstrations prepared, especially, for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Coutellia 2015.
It should be remarked of these ones, forging blade, technique of sharpened, assembling of a knife or pocket knife, exhibition of ancient knives, and even, will be able to visit museums, in this case, worth noting and world benchmark of Cutlery, is the Museum of Cutlery of Thiers (France), mirror on which, our Museum of Cutlery of Albacete (Spain) is looked, and which enjoy wonderful relationships of brotherhood.
